do we do this…
Well for a start, not
by charging you by the
hour! (I'm sure you
already realize, professionals
paid by the hour don't
really have much incentive
to be efficient - after
all if they do your
tax or accounts quicker,
you pay less!
Instead,
we're happy to agree
flat fees for our work,
and in some cases profit
related fees - so that
we benefit only as you
benefit.
And in
terms of the work, we
can't believe that most
of you are running your
business because of
the taxes you want to
pay, or the set of annual
accounts you want prepared
to reflect your results…
If you're like us, you're
in business for some
personal results - some
money-related (after
all it is
necessary), but others
more to do with personal
achievement, lifestyle,
freedom. (Don't laugh
but we know one person
who chucked in the 'full-time'
job and set up a business
working from home primarily
to keep the dog company!)

Specialist
FD service…
Many small businesses
don't have the luxury
of a full-time finance
director. One of the
special services we're
happy to offer is the
availability of an 'FD'
when you do need one.
Obviously this can be
on a one-off basis (eg
when you're looking
at getting extra funding
from a bank, the DTI
or a venture capitalist),
but we know from experience
that the contribution
an FD can make will
be maximised if there's
an on-going relationship
with the FD knowing
your business at a reasonably
in-depth level. (For
this reason, those with
FD commitments to clients
will have a restricted
number of such clients
to make sure that they
can properly get to
know the businesses
concerned and make valid
and valuable bottom
line contributions).
